Last weekend we had a great time in Concho, AZ at the Red Rock Farms Lavendar Festival.  In the middle of our desert with red sand there is the most beautiful lavendar fields all in bloom.  They have an annual festival the last two weekends in June each year.  They have a website http://www.redrockfarms.com/ if you are interested in more information.  They have a variety of types of lavendar and products.  You can cut your own bundles of lavendar during the festival, buy plants, and cooking demonstrations with samples to try.  The lavendar lemonade is very refreshing.  Thank you Red Rock Farms for hosting this annual event.

Where do you find inspiration

Today I was looking at a clothing catalog.  They spoke about where they find inspiration for the textile designs.  Looking at little details you often find something inspiring.  Like the hand carved bone buttons they had on a shirt.  The buttons were very unique in design.  I was imagining how the little buttons would look on a paper crafing project.  Buttons are an interesting embelishment.  
I have been looking at things in a whole new way.  I recently discovered the flaps on boxes are solid in color and can be used with punches.  A glossy red box made great hearts.  I used them to decorate a plain brown bag for my husband's Valentine's gift.  A light green box made for a nice bird and black for bats.
